SmartyGrants housekeeping

SmartyGrants is designed for use on a personal computer, rather than using a phone or smart device.
SmartyGrants and this application form times out after 20 minutes of inactivity. Typing in a text box does not count as activity, so if you spend 20 minutes writing without saving, your session may time out and you could lose work. Best practice is to save regularly — about every 10 minutes. * Required
You'll have the ability to upload marked up (drawn on) maps and other supporting information later in this application form. These strengthen your application. * Required
Once you have a clear idea of what you would like to apply for (after reading the guidelines) and have gathered your costings, we estimate it may take up to 60 minutes to complete this form.

Applicant contribution requirement

Many grant programs use a contribution model to ensure projects are well‑supported by the applicant, jointly funded, and realistically planned.

Contributions from applicants can be their cash, other peoples' cash and/or valued time (valued at $50.50 per hour, which is Volunteer SA's valued rate).

[Often grant programs require 'dollar for dollar' cost matching from an applicant]

For fire recovery we reduce the applicant contribution amount to 25%. This means 25 cents contributed per grant dollar sought. Read this for more information.
